I-75/Fruitville Road Interchange PD&E RE-Evaluation & Design (Diverging Diamond Interchange) (Sarasota County, Florida)

The project encompasses the reconstruction of one mile of I-75 for the ultimate interchange configuration. TIT includes a major design change reevaluation to revise the proposed interchange design to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). The project also includes one mile of widening and resurfacing of Fruitville Road to provide additional capacity improvements from Honore Avenue to Coburn Road.

Elements of work include PD&E reevaluation, roadway, traffic control, pavement design, design variations, specifications, stormwater management, floodplain compensation, signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) modifications, permitting, utility coordination, and public involvement..

US 98/SR 60 Intersection Concrete Reconstruction (Polk County, Florida)

ICON was responsible for providing design and complete construction plans for the widening and reconstruction of approximately 0.9 miles of roadway. The design encompassed widening SR 60 (Van Fleet Drive) from a four-lane to six-lane divided urban roadway with turn lanes from west of US 98 to west of US 17, within the City of Bartow. This project fronts the FDOT District One Headquarters building.

Elements of work included roadway, drainage analysis and plans, signing and pavement markings, signalization, traffic data collection and analysis, structures, lighting, significant maintenance of traffic/traffic control plans, landscape plans, utility coordination, utility adjustments and utility relocation plans, public involvement, permitting, and specifications.

Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway Reversible Lanes, Slip Ramps & Feeder Roads
(Hillsborough County, Florida)
- Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority

The project consisted of adding a two and three-lane reversible facility with access through median slip ramps west of Palm River Road, then extending these lanes to connect to the bridge to Downtown Tampa east of 78th Street. The existing bridges at Palm River Road were widened and a new westbound bridge was constructed.

CR/SR 581 (Bruce B. Downs Boulevard) Widening/Reconstruction
(Pasco County, Florida)
- FDOT District Seven

ICON provided traffic operation services for the widening design from Palm Springs Boulevard to Pebble Creek Drive. Bruce B. Downs Boulevard was from four to eight lanes.

Work for this Hillsborough County project consisted of traffic analysis and design/construction plans for lighting, signing and pavement marking, and signalization for eight signals including ITS / Interconnect plans.

SR 50 Widening from Mariner Boulevard to Suncoast Parkway
(Hernando County, Florida)

SR 50 (Cortez Blvd) Widening from Mariner Blvd to Suncoast Parkway (SR 589), FDOT District VII, Hernando County, Florida, (June 2005 – December 2006): Provided Project Management and Engineering for complete construction plans for the widening (add lanes and reconstruct) of 2 miles from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. Elements of work include Existing Conditions and Variations/Exceptions Reports, Community Awareness Plan, Roadway and Drainage 

Design Documentation, Pavement Design and Typical Section Packages, Specifications, Computation Book and Quantities, Pond Siting Report, Cross Drain Analysis, Stormwater Management Plan, Roadway Design, Drainage/Stormwater, Signing and Pavement Markings, Signalization, Lighting, Utility Coordination, Right-of-Way, Maintenance of Traffic, Level 2 Traffic Control Plans, and Permitting through SWFWMD, USACOE, and FDEP NPDES.

District Wide Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) Contract (Various Locations, Florida)

ICON provided traffic and roadway engineering for seven Local Agency Program (LAP) projects. Elements of work included lighting design, specifications and construction plans, and full roadway and sidewalk design for ‘Safe Routes to School’ to meet ADA, decorative landscaping, coordination with stakeholders, limited existing right-of-way, and permitting through Southwest Florida Water Management District and NEPA. Projects include sidewalks at Chocachatti Elementary School, Citrus Springs Middle School and Central Ridge Elementary School, McCoy – West of Trask to Westshore Boulevard, Oldsmar Elementary School, Rome Avenue from Sligh Avenue to Waters Avenue, and Nursery Road from Keene to Oakadia Drive. Other projects include SR 60 (Memorial Causeway) from Memorial Causeway Bridge to Clearwater Harbor Bridge lighting project, I-275/SR 93 at SR 582/Fowler Avenue off-ramp capacity safety project, and I-275/SR 93 at Howard Frankland Bridge merge improvement project.
